SMEDAN holds training for IFAD Agrihub beneficiaries

In a bid to equip the IFAD Agrihub Abuja beneficiaries with all the crucial knowledge needed in setting up their desired agribusiness enterprise, APDC collaborated with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) to anchor 3-days business registration and financial tips training. The training was held from 6th– 8th July, 2021 and was anchored by three facilitators.

Day 1 of the training was anchored by Mr. Hashim. The training featured Introduction to SMEDAN, business opportunities and financial literacy tips. Day 2  was facilitated by Mrs. Regina Bamaiyi centered on business registration and agribusiness legal matters. She made it known to the trainees that agencies responsible for various business registration in Nigeria include SON, Federal Inland Revenue and CAC. She also tutored them on different business taxes. On the last day of the program, discussion and presentation was made by Mrs. Funto on book-keeping, cashbook and financial analysis.

The 3-days programme was greeted with the presence of some staff of Africa Projects Development Centre who also deemed the programme informative and very useful.

All attending interns will be presented certificates which can be used to onboard their business plans into financial rendering platforms to help their intended business grow.

One of the major objective of the IFAD Agrihub project is to create sustainable income for young people in Nigeria through agriculture, APDC is proud to be a partner with IITA implementing the Abuja Hub.
