Abuja, April 5^th, 2025 - A high-level delegation from the Federal Ministry of Youth Development and Wema Bank recently visited the Africa Projects Development Centre (APDC), signaling a significant move to strengthen strategic partnerships for youth training and development nationwide.

The Ministry's delegation, led by Oyine Lucy Olofu, Assistant Director (Special Duties), included Marwan Umar, Senior Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Youth Development on International Cooperation and NGOs, and Olasimbo Akinrosotu, Deputy Director of the Enterprise Development and Promotion Department. They were joined by Mr. Timi Obisesan, Head of Partnerships for Abuja and the North region of Wema Bank.

This visit underscores the Federal Ministry of Youth Development and Wema Bank's commitment, through the bank’s Skillnovation project, to empower 1,000 Nigerian youths (aged 18-35) across the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria with crucial digital, technical, and business skills to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial capabilities. The training program will leverage the expertise of the Research, Development & Training Initiative (RDTI), a subsidiary of the APDC Group, to deliver training to beneficiaries in ten cohorts of 100 participants each over ten months (one month per cohort). The curriculum will focus on relevant technical, digital, and business skills.

During their visit, the delegation engaged in productive closed-door discussions with APDC's management team, facilitated by Dr. Chiji Ojukwu, Managing Director of APDC Group. The meeting focused on effective implementation strategies for the training initiative, followed by a comprehensive tour of APDC's state-of-the-art training facilities.

This visit establishes a promising foundation for collaboration between the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Wema Bank, and APDC, with all parties committed to driving impactful training initiatives that contribute meaningfully to Nigeria's youth development landscape.
