    The Africa Projects Development Centre is a youth-driven Pan-African organization with its Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria, committed to driving positive change and making a tangible impact in our communities in Agriculture, Creative Sector, Nutrition, Renewable Energy, and Green Economy. To expand our reach and deepen our impact, we are strengthening our financial operations.  

    Position Summary  

    We are seeking a meticulous and motivated Finance Intern. This is a hands-on opportunity for a recent graduate eager to build practical expertise in accounting, financial management, and compliance within the non-profit development sector.  

    You will be responsible for supporting daily financial operations, maintaining precise accounting records, assisting with routine reconciliations, and ensuring strict adherence to internal policies. The ideal candidate is a meticulous record-keeper, an analytical thinker, a proactive learner and is passionate about our mission.  

    Reports to: Finance Manager & Director of Programmes, Policy & Partnerships.  

    Position Type: Full-Time.   

    Location: APDC Group Headquarters - Gwagwalada, Abuja.   

    Duration: Initial six-month fixed-term contract, subject to a single renewal.    

    Key Responsibilities  

     

    • Process invoices, staff salaries, and expense claims.  
    • Prepare payment vouchers, ensuring accurate documentation and authorisation.  
    • Maintain organised, up-to-date digital and physical financial records.  
    • Execute precise data entry into financial tracking tools and accounting software.  
    • Support routine bank reconciliations and the collation of data for financial reporting.  
    • Provide general administrative assistance to the finance team and undertake any other tasks delegated by the management team.  

    Qualifications and Experience  

    • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management from an accredited University or Polytechnic.  
    • A minimum of 0-2 yearsof progressive, professional experience in the finance industry.  
    • Foundational proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and a willingness to train on QuickBooks.  
    • Exceptional attention to numerical detail, highly organised, and strictly confidential.  

    Required Skills  

    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.  
    • Experience in developing and reviewing proposal budgets is an added advantage.  
    • Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders/key individuals.  
    • Proactive, detail-oriented, resourceful, and committed to the highest standards of work.
