On Monday, March 11th, 2024, the National Association of Northern Nigerian Students (NANNS) bestowed a prestigious honor of “Icon of Youth Development” upon Dr. Chiji Ojukwu, the Managing Director, Africa Projects Development Centre (APDC) Group in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory. This is in recognition of his unwavering commitment to youth development and empowerment in Nigeria.   
The award ceremony, held at the APDC Group headquarters in Abuja, witnessed the presence of Executive Committee members of the NANNS and the APDC Management team. The accolade was graciously received on his behalf by Mr. Maaruf Yakub, the Director of Programmes, Partnership & Policy at APDC Group.   

This recognition not only celebrates Dr. Ojukwu's current endeavors but also highlights his pioneering role as the initiator of the groundbreaking ENABLE Youth Programme during his tenure as the Director of Agriculture and Agroindustry at the African Development Bank (AfDB). The ENABLE Youth Programme, a flagship initiative, has played a pivotal role in empowering and equipping young Africans with the necessary skills and resources to thrive in the agricultural sector.   
Through his visionary leadership and steadfast dedication, Dr. Ojukwu has been a driving force behind numerous youth-centric initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development across Nigeria and the broader African continent.   

During the award ceremony, the NANNS Executive Committee, led by its General Secretary, Ambassador Bashir Nasiru Garki, commended Dr. Ojukwu's remarkable contributions, acknowledging his role as a beacon of hope and inspiration for the youth of Northern Nigeria in particular and Nigeria as a whole. The "Icon of Youth Development" accolade serves as a testament to his unwavering dedication to empowering the next generation and catalyzing positive change through education, skill development, and entrepreneurial support.
